Speculation is ripe about Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential ambitions.

Sky News reporter Rowan Dean is arguing that Donald Trump will run for president in 2024 and then DeSantis will run in 2028.

Dean argued that Republicans certainly have a lot to be optimistic about in the near future.

Speaking on Sky News Australia’s “Outsiders” program, former Trump campaign official and GETTR CEO Jason Miller predicted that Trump will run again in 2024, and presumably would not pick DeSantis as his running mate.

“I don’t think we’ll hear any sort of announcement until 2023, maybe late 2022”, Miller said.

“I don’t think he will be running against Joe Biden, though. I think he will be running against Kamala Harris, or, more likely, California governor Gavin Newsom,” Miller added.

As to whether DeSantis would be Trump’s running mate, Miller said, “I’ve had the opportunity to work with Governor DeSantis before, and I don’t think Ron wants to be Vice-President. I think Ron wants to be President. He’s a young guy, he’s in his early 40s.”

Dean seemed encouraged by this news: “So what you’re saying is Trump 2024, DeSantis 2028, and 2032. Perfect. We’ve got 12 great years coming… You’ve given us all hope!”

Back in December, DeSantis smacked down rumors of a 2024 run.

DeSantis said he is not thinking about a presidential run and is instead focused on making sure “people are not supporting critical race theory.”

“I’m not considering anything beyond doing my job. We got a lot of stuff going on in Florida. I’m going to be running for reelection next year,” the Republican told Fox News host Sean Hannity.

“And we are also working on a lot of things in the state beyond just the governor’s race. We got school board races, Sean. I want to make sure people are not supporting Critical Race Theory, making sure that, you know, parents have the ability to send their kids to school the way they want to. So there are a lot of huge issues. That is way down the road, it’s not anything that I’m planning for,” he added.

If Donald Trump wants to run for another term in 2024, he will have a huge financial head start.

According to Trump’s latest Federal Election Commission filing, his Save America PAC hauled in $51 million during the second half of 2021, bringing his total cash-on-hand to an eye-popping $122 million.

Earlier, the former president had reported raising $82 million during the first half of last year, which, according to a statement he released at the time, was the most money ever raised by a former president.

“President Trump’s continued and unprecedented pace of fundraising shows that the future of the Republican Party in 2022 and beyond remains, perhaps, the strongest in our country’s history — the MAGA movement is here to stay!” the Save America PAC statement read.

“This massive fundraising accomplishment does not include the hundreds of millions of dollars raised by other candidates and organizations who use President Trump’s name, likeness, endorsement, and America First Agenda as a platform for their efforts, further strengthening the movement he began in 2016,” the statement continued.

‘President Donald J. Trump has built a political organization that continues to capture and define the future of the Republican Party,” Trump and Save America PAC’s director of communications, Taylor Budowich, noted in a statement.

“From the massive and unprecedented Save America Rallies to these record-breaking fundraising numbers, there is no question that the MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN (MAGA!) wave is set to crash across the midterms and carry forward all the way through 2024,” he added.

“In the history of our country, there has never been a more reliable or winning endorsement of candidates than that of President Trump. President Trump is incredibly well-positioned to look beyond November as the need for his leadership has never been more important,” he continued.
