Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, the first overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, has announced that he will kneel during the National Anthem to protest police brutality against minorities for the duration of the NFL season. Teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos have recently taken patriotic stands against kneeling and the Arizona Cardinals are no different.

Rather than following the Steelers’ model of fining him $1 million per game, the Cardinals have decided to cut him outright, even though they have three liberal cities in their division who will likely get into a bidding war for the young and talented quarterback.

Team President Joe Barron spoke with Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity about the decision.

“We’re a tolerant organization. We don’t care what the players do on their own time, as long as they are respectful to the duly elected President, unless it’s a Democrat, our flag, and our police and military. We’ve made it clear to everyone in the organization.

Hey, do you think Trump is watching this now?

Anyway, you will stand for the flag and the only time you kneel is in victory formation.

The fact that this kid said he’s openly going to disrespect our nation is an affront to our military, our first responders, and America itself and we are not going to stand for it! We’re right, we’re free. We’ll fight. You’ll see. We’re not gonna take it anymore!”

This decision will set the Cardinals organization back another 10 years, not that they were any good on the field, to begin with. It is moves like this that will make them, and not the Dallas Cowboys, America’s Team.
